Dr. Santi Kiranand, representative of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FETCO), made the following comments on the monthly FETCO Investor Confidence Index (ICI) for October 2017:
- FETCO Investor Confidence Index (ICI) for the next three months (through December 2017) stood at 162.63, rising into the index’ very bullish range of 161–200, and up 31.02% from the previous month’s level of 124.13.
- Investor confidence increased significantly. The foreign investor and proprietary trader ICIs were both very bullish, while local institutional investors and retail investors were bullish.
- The Tourism & Leisure sector (TOURISM) continued to be seen as providing the most attractive investment opportunities, while Media & Publishing (MEDIA) drew the least investor interest.
- The most important factor influencing the Thai stock market was the flow of international capital, while the biggest drag on the market was the risk of international conflicts.
